The FWLS Attica was the third Zechetinu-class corvette launched by the Free Worlds League.

History[edit]

Completing trials in April 3058, the Attica entered service shortly after her sister ship FWLS Karelia. As of early 3059, the Attica was a part of the League's "secret fleet" and had been charged with guarding the Illium Naval Yard in the Ionus system. The mandate to protect the shipyards, which were a closely-guarded secret in their own right, was such that Captain Mara Halas was authorized to destroy vessels other than authorized FWLM ships that approached sensor range of the yards. As a part of maintaining operational security, the Attica would often either alter her IFF transponder to broadcast the signal for her sister ship, the FWLS Tirana, or even deactivate the transponder and run silent.[1]

By 3067, the Attica had been in service for the better part of a decade and was one of four corvettes of her class and manufacturing block known to be on active service, serving alongside the FWLS Sparta, Karelia, and Tirana.[2]

With the Free Worlds League government beginning to disintegrate in the early years of the Jihad the Attica fell under the control of the Principality of Regulus. Prince Kirc Cameron-Jones subsequently launched a strike against the Duchy of Oriente in April 3071, of which the RPS Attica was a part; the naval battlegroup in the Oriente system built around the Thera-class carrier FWLS Santorini crippled and then captured the Attica, taking the ship as payment for the various Regulan actions against the Duchy.[3]
