Stevens parted ways with IE on bad terms after an unspecified incident on Vulture's Nest which she remembered as a "disaster"; she and her crew suffered outrageous treatment by IE. However, IE would later acknowledge (seeking to hire Stevens again) that whatever had happened had not been her fault after all, blaming Project Director Denderhoff instead. Stevens thought of Denderhoff as a rugged mercenary who would not listen to advice.
Mission to Rocky
Employed by Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner in 3067, she (together with her team, which included Tibor Mitternacht and Marissa Boerefijn) retrieved the Chalice of Uston DeKirk from the ancient wreckage of an ocean-going vessel on Rocky, a devastated and abandoned world that had been thrown into a nuclear winter.
During a presentation of this find in the Duke's palace on New Glasgow, Skye, on 24 April 3067, Brooke Stevens was approached by Dr. Henry Croft, of Interstellar Explorations, who offered her some leads and an assignment of how to find the lost world of Jardine.
Mission to Jardine
Stevens found that a powerful and ruthless agency sought to protect the secret of Jardine at any cost.
Although she found the system and arrived on the hidden planet (with her K-1 DropShuttle crashlanding after being shot down on approach), she found herself on the run from Word of Blake forces on the surface immediately. She would eventually escape, but several of her associates were killed, as were numerous people on Jardine who had helped her.
Technically a success, the discovery sparked a manhunt against her, her family and her crew. Her ship, the Sacajawea, was destroyed near Skye, and her husband, professor Tyler Stevens, was killed, though much of this went unnoticed or wasn't traced back to her finding of Jardine on the background of the general chaos of the Jihad raging across the Inner Sphere at the time. Thomas Halas sent several Knights of the Inner Sphere to Lyran space, trying to rescue her.

In the Dark Age era, Stevens' grandchildren started to investigate into her fate, and again found that a shadowy agency sought to hinder or even murder them, leading to the "accident" that destroyed the DropShip Lusitania IV with all hands.[2]
