History[edit]

Carlos Valdez was a fighter in Solaris VII's BBL fighting for Black Ronin Stables during the Dark Age.[1]

He was one of the 3086 Championship rookies.[1]

In week three he fought against Cindy Santos and won against her.[1]

Ranked third, he fought in the eight week of the championship against Acca Haig, with both MechWarriors piloting Panthers. From the start Valdez was quicker. His first PPC shot stripped the armor off of Haig's right arm. Valdez continued to be methodical as he slowly took Haig apart. When a PPC blast destroyed Haig's right torso, she conceded the match.[2]

Prior to week nine, Class Two Division had three rookies in it, and two of them led the division. The Kroner Kings Stables' Jean Cuvier who had been on fire winning six of his eight matches. Carlos Valdez was two points behind Cuvier and was looking to push past him this week. Cindy Santos and Tyler Boyer were a point behind Valdez, with Boyer's losses the last two weeks costing him vital points and a slide down the table.[1]

Week Nine was a rematch of third's week match: Carlos Valdez vs. Cindy Santos. Determined not to have a repeat performance, Cindy came out storming in her 'Mech. Valdez was on fire and won the first exchanges, forcing Cindy to press even harder, but Valdez's Panther was more than up to the task. In a twenty-minute fight, he shattered Cindy's chances of winning the match when he severed her 'Mech's right leg.[1]

After ninth week's results, Valdez and Cuvier were tied for first, with Tyler Boyer and a surging Lo Yen a point behind.[1]

In week twelve he fought and won against Jean Cuvier.[3]

At midseason, Carlos Valdez occupied the top slot of the Class Two Division with 25 points, and though Tyler Boyer was tied with Valdez in points, Valdez's timing points total is superior. Lo Yen was third, while Cuvier had dropped to fourth.[3]

For his thirteenth week match, he was paired against Lo Yen. Lo Yen established the tone from the start, getting in the first hits with his Stinger, while avoiding Valdez's return fire from his Panther. It took seventeen minutes for Yen to wear away the Panther's heavier armor and concentrating the damage on Valdez's right arm and torso. Valdez missed almost every time, unable to predict the canny Yen's next action. When a penetrating shot damaged Valdez's PPC and next his SRM-4 launcher, Valdez signaled the officials he had enough.[4]

This loss was to be followed by a string of medium results, which ended with Valdez ranked fourth prior to week sixteenth match.

For week sixteen, he was paired against Mansai Yamazaki, ranked third at that time. The veteran Yamazaki outmaneuvered and out-shot Valdez's Panther with his Jenner in a display of the slashing attack, winning when Valdez's engine overheated and shut down.[5]
