Vessel Profile | |
Type | DropShip |
Class | Overlord |
The Chieftain was an Overlord-class DropShip supplied to Wolf's Dragoons at their formation, and used as Jaime Wolf's command vessel.[1]
Operational History
In 3006, the Chieftain was present in the raid on the Hegemony Bay BattleMech production facility on Styk.[2]
Circa 3030, the vessel was assigned to Able Battalion, Alpha Regiment.[3]
In 3054, the ship was commanded by Captain Cythene Martel.[4]
By 3055, it was still assigned to the command company, though instead of carrying a BattleMech battalion like a regular Overlord, the 3055 Chieftain was assigned to a combined force consisting of 15 'Mechs, two aerospace fighters, one battle armor squad/point (5 individual battle armor troopers), and 5 ground vehicles.[5] This seems to suggest the Chieftain was either modified or replaced by a differently-configured vessel.
The Chieftain survived the Word of Blake Jihad, and the Dragoons kept it as a command ship. In 3151, it still had that role, and even carried onboard Jaime Wolf's immaculately maintained Archer. After participating at the Battle of Terra, the Chieftain housed a meeting of Dragoons officers, where their new leader, Colonel Henry Kincaid, informed them than the Dragoons were to wage war against Alaric Ward and the Wolf Empire.[6]
