While fighting a team match in The Jungle on 3065 in his own AXM-1N Axman his machine's right leg was blown off and used as a club to kill Barttelbort's partner in a string of physical attacks while Barttelbort watched in horror. Barttelbort was unable to obtain repair parts due to the FedCom Civil War, but eventually scavenged the right leg from a TMP-3M Tempest. This started his love of tinkering on his own 'Mech, now referred to as "Temax".
