History

As at 3059 the Potemkin-class cruiser Renown was serving as the CSA Renown within the Clan Star Adder touman. The Renown had been recently been mothballed in orbit above Sheridan along with the Lola III-class destroyer CSA Cameron's Flame to reduce the logistical burden of supporting the large Star Adder WarShip fleet.[1] Following the absorption of former Clan Smoke Jaguar holdings the Renown had been returned to full service under the orders of the Star Adder Naval Adjutant, Star Admiral Tobias McKenna; the Renown was subsequently placed on loan to Clan Diamond Shark[2] for a period of twenty years following an agreement reached in 3062 that saw the Star Adders provide the Diamond Sharks with certain new weapon technologies and use of the Renown in exchange for control of the Shark holdings on Priori.[3]

While the twenty year loan of the Renown should have expired in 3082 there is no record of the ship being back under Star Adder control by 3085.[4] Following the exile of the Diamond Sharks from the Clan Homeworlds intelligence agencies hadn't been able to identify the full extent of the Diamond Shark black water navy, and it is therefore possible that the Renown continued to operate as a part of the Diamond Shark touman in the Deep Periphery.[5]
