This article is about the BattleTech tournament rule/era restriction. For the smallest ComGuard military formation, see Level I.

The first BattleTech tournament Rule Level introduced by FASA, Level One retroactively represents the depleted level of technology available in the Inner Sphere during the Succession War era circa 3025, before the technological renaissance caused by the discovery of the Helm Memory Core and Clan Invasion. Unlike Levels 2 and 3, which represent the advancing technology of the game's present day and "future", Level 1 represents the past and is effectively static, the last new addition being the Hatchet.
