I have removed the intro date because although the current in game year is 3063, the fluff dates at least one "Corsair" as 3037 and given the use of the term as more of a classification than a specific design there may not ever be a proper fixed intro date.--Dmon (talk) 08:07, 4 December 2018 (EST)

:My thoughts exactly. The RS date didn't make any sense to me. I would generally suggest to keep the Mechwarrior Online values, until fully canon sourcebook or similar publication appear.  ManganMan (talk) 10:16, 4 December 2018 (EST)

There seems to be a disconnect between the (canonical) fluff by Randall Bills and the PGI marketing. The fluff describes the Ravager as a unique 95t FrankenMech, one of the sub-type of FrankenMechs called "Corsairs" - a word used for heavy and assault 'Mechs, according to the fluff. It even spells out explicitly that "no exact weight or chassis applies".

By contrast, PGI is selling no less than seven different 'Mechs, all called Corsair and with a COR-xx alphanumerical code, as if "Corsair" was a regular 'Mech model rolling off an assembly line somewhere. They're all 95 tons, and all of similar and obviously related design. Going by the fluff, they could be assumed to be different versions of the same individual Ravager FrankenMech; and perhaps the alphanumerical code was given to the thing when copycat models started to show up. Or can anyone come up with a better explanation? Frabby (talk) 11:18, 4 December 2018 (EST)

Corsair "official" record sheet

I saw that Spacegy4 added data from record sheet. I would like to ask, what source should be more proper - from MwO itself (since it's a exclusive Mech of this game) or said RS. ManganMan (talk) 05:49, 3 December 2018 (EST)

In this instance, I'd argue that the record sheet takes precedence as it appears to be an official product, and is the most recent source, but Frabby is our canonicity expert. If there are differences between the two, I'd expect the one that's most recent and closest to canon to take primacy, with the differences between source noted in the article. Is that record sheet an official release? Or was it just made up by someone for the con?--Cache (talk) 08:03, 3 December 2018 (EST)
I guess it's made just for the Mech_Con. I could try to recreate all the variants in MegaMekLab. ManganMan (talk) 08:28, 3 December 2018 (EST)
The full sheet with a little info on where he got it was posted by NeonKnight on the BT forum: Here--Cache (talk) 18:13, 3 December 2018 (EST)

Intro date

I have removed the intro date because although the current in game year is 3063, the fluff dates at least one "Corsair" as 3037 and given the use of the term as more of a classification than a specific design there may not ever be a proper fixed intro date.--Dmon (talk) 08:07, 4 December 2018 (EST)

My thoughts exactly. The RS date didn't make any sense to me. I would generally suggest to keep the Mechwarrior Online values, until fully canon sourcebook or similar publication appear. ManganMan (talk) 10:16, 4 December 2018 (EST)

Proper 'Mech design?
