Winston "Doc" Davis was born on Loric and from a young age started tinkering with anything mechanical—and of course BattleMechs. He went to serve in the Thirteenth Marik Militia as a field technician till he was wounded by an artillery barrage from his own forces resulting in permanent hearing loss in his left ear.
