The Zoetermeer system is the location of at least one habitable world, Zoetermeer II - usually referred to simply as "Zoetermeer" - and as at 3145 was located in the Clan Hell's Horses Occupation Zone.[2][3]
System Description
The Zoetermeer system is located close to the Leskovik and Vulcan systems [2][3] and consists of at least two planets orbiting a class G9V primary.[1]
System History
The Zoetermeer system was colonized during the Star League era by the Lyran Commonwealth at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[4][5]
Zoetermeer II
Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Zoetermeer II is the second planet in the Zolfo system and has a single moon named Zegwaard.[1]
Planetary History
Star League
During the final years of the Star League, Zoetermeer was the host to a Star League Defense Force garrison.[6]
Clan Invasion of 3050
The system was invaded by Clan Jade Falcon during the Invasion of September-October of 3050. Part of its Fourth Wave, Zoetermeer was taken by Emerald Talon Naval Assault Star. The WarShips orbited the planet and forced the survivors of the 10th Donegal Guards RCT & Alpha Battalion of the 12th Star Guards to surrender or be bombarded.[7] The Falcons targeted the world because there were rumors of a Star League depot. No such depot was found though.[1]
Jihad
Zoetermeer was conquered by Clan Wolf during the 3060s, only to then be invaded again during the Jihad, when Clan Hell's Horses launched an invasion of the Clan Wolf holdings in the Inner Sphere in early 3071. Zoetermeer was invaded by the Hell's Horses between the 14th and 28th of August 3071, but the Hell's Horses invasion stalled along a line of worlds from Zoetermeer to Ferleiten.[8][9]
The Horses have declined to develop the world's infrastructure and industrial capacity beyond what the Wolves and Falcons put in place.[1]
