Planet History

Elgin was originally founded as the planet Chisholm by wealthy nonconformists in the late 2100s,[10] and formed a part of various states beginning with the Nanking Collective, then the Chisholm Protectorate,[11] before becoming a part of the Chisholm Province within the Tikonov Grand Union.[12]. Despite the Tikonov Grand Union fighting a war with the Terran Hegemony over attempts to annex the Chisholm Province, Chisholm would remain a part of the Terran Hegemony until the fall of the Star League.[13]

Chisholm was renamed Elgin in honour of Captain Edward T. Elgin in 2878, after he successfully defended the planet against forces from the Free Worlds League.[14]

During the Jihad, Elgin was one of the first worlds hit by the Coalition. Forces from the Free Worlds League Group II fought a bitter conflict with the defending Protectorate Militia Division. The fight only ended when the Division commander was killed.[6]
