History
Formation
Formed in 2364, the Third Kearny Highlanders, as with the other Highlander Regiments, were originally part of a standing army for Northwind. However the outbreak of the Age of War saw the Highlanders drawn to the profit that could be made by hiring out their services to various foreign powers.[1]
Destruction
In 2841 the Third was under strength and undergoing extensive refitting and repair on Northwind. The Davion Assault Guards, 33rd Avalon Hussars, and 21st Rim Worlds landed and engaged the Third and Stuart's Highlanders. The under strength Third garrisoned Cromarty City, but they were smashed by the Twenty-First Rim Worlds and forced out of the city. During their attempt to link up with Stuart's Highlanders, all three AFFS regiments engaged the Third Highlanders and inflicted massive damage. Only a company of the Third was able to link up with Stuart's Highlanders. Eventually both CCAF regiments were destroyed.[2][3][4]
