In 3062 Count of Bluford Josiah Reese supported Katherine Steiner-Davion as the rightful ruler of the Federated Commonwealth. A portion of the Bluford Militia rebelled against this decision, including the militia's Commanding Officer, Colonel Saunders. Kommadant William Bacchelaut commanded the remainder of the loyalist militia in an operation to eliminate the rebel forces.

After the rebellion was put down William was promoted to Colonel and given command of the planetary militia.[1]
