The Canopian Highlanders were a mercenary unit that formed after the Reunification War.

History

Founded after the Reunification War the unit stayed for the next centuries on the sides of the Magistracy of Canopus. For a short time they signed a contract with the FedCom in exchange for upgrades, but the Davion doesn't stand to their word. The Highlanders returned to their home state. During the next years the command defended several planets against bandit raiders. Tragedy struck the force in 3067 after a successful bombing attempt against the unit's senior staff. The force behind the assassination was a group of three different pirate bands.

During the Jihad, the unit defended the Magistracy. By 3079 the Canopian Highlanders had survived the Jihad and formally merged with the MAF.[1] They became the third unit of the Magistracy Highlanders brigade, and were stationed on Cate's Hold and Brixtana.[2]
