History[edit]

François Cote was a Clan Ghost Bear Bloodnamed MechWarrior who participated in Operation REVIVAL and served in the Ghost Bear touman until at least the Jihad era.[2][3][4]

Operation REVIVAL[edit]

In March 3050, François Cote was a Star Colonel in command of the 3rd Bear Striker (Clan Ghost Bear) as part of Beta Galaxy. He participated in the invasion of Thule in the first wave of Operation REVIVAL.[4] He was noted as first to recognize the danger presented by the Rasalhague First Hussars and their commander, leading the others among the combined force to likewise call in more troops. [2]

In May 3050, Star Colonel François Cote was part of the force sent to retake Damian from an uprising when the DropShip Sharp Claw (attached to the WarShip Bear's Den) on which he was traveling was hit by an asteroid. While François Cote survived the incident, most of the 3rd Bear Striker did not.[4] Richard Bekker saved the lives of ten warriors including Cote during that incident[5] and thus became something of a protégé of François Cote.

On Maule, constant demonstrations by the recently conquered proved difficult to put down without resorting to violence. Preferring a more restrained response, the limited freedom and trade instituted in 3052 by Star Colonel Cote soon spread throughout most of the occupied zone. By 3060, he was given command of Tau Galaxy, a second-line garrison Galaxy, in recognition of his skills, diplomacy, and foresight. Though a humiliation to some, François Cote saw it as a great honor and worked closely with Khan Bjorn Jorgensson to foster goodwill among the occupied planets that would soon become the Ghost Bear Dominion.[1]

As of 3073 François Cote was a Galaxy Commander in command of Tau Galaxy, Richard Bekker still serving under him as a Star Colonel.[6]
