Jenette Rand was an officer with Wolf's Dragoons who later married Dechan Fraser. She assisted her husband and Theodore Kurita in the rebuilding of the Ryuken regiments for the Draconis Combine.

Early Career[edit]
Little is known about Rand's early life, aside from the fact she was born into Wolf's Dragoons and may have been born on the Clan Homeworlds.
Prior to the Battle of Misery in 3028, Rand had the rank of MechWarrior and was a member of the Recon Lance, Laskowski's Company, Baker Battalion of Alpha Regiment.[2]
Barlow's End[edit]
While with Laskowski's Company, in September 3026 during the Dragoons contract with the Draconis Combine, Rand participated in the Dragoons' raid on Barlow's End together with the Ryuken with the aim of capturing an experimental prototype weapon being developed at the Achernar Proving Grounds. Baker Battalion took heavy casualties during this raid, including during a retreat under fire from the Eridani Light Horse, during which Captain Laskowski's 'Mech went down with a damaged leg. She was abandoned by the remains of her unit under Dechan Fraser on the basis the Horseman would ransom her back to the Dragoons following her capture, and she was in fact returned subsequently as part of a prisoner exchange.[3][4][2]

After that battle, she was placed on "special assignment,"[2] and she was partnered with Dechan Fraser by Jaime Wolf to accompany Michi Noketsuna in his vendetta as the Bounty Hunter against those responsible for so many deaths.
In October of 3030, Rand accompanied Noketsuna and in an ambush on Benjamin of Internal Security Force agent Panati, who had aided Jerry Akuma in his efforts against the Dragoons. To the surprise of Fraser and Noketsuna, Panati was accompanied by Theodore Kurita and Ninyu Kerai, with all three being incapacitated in the ambush. When Theodore Kurita protested the execution of Panati, Noketsuna revealed his identity and his vendetta. Sometime after the death of Grieg Samsonov, the trio joined Theodore Kurita's shitenno, helping him rebuild the Ryuken regiments, and providing a new doctrine for the DCMS.[7] She fought alongside Fraser and the Ryuken against Federated Suns invaders during the War of 3039. At some point, she and Fraser married. In 3054, after the death of Takashi Kurita, she and Fraser returned to the Dragoons on Outreach.
Dragoon Civil War[edit]
By the time of the Dragoon Civil War Rand, then a Captain, fought on Jaime Wolf's side,[1] commanding a light lance on an impressive run that brought down the enemy commander's Gladiator Omnimech.[8] She was wounded in the fighting but survived.[9]
Battlemechs[edit]
During her early career with the Dragoons and with the Bounty Hunter, Rand piloted a Dervish.[2][10] While commanding the Ryuken during the War of 3039, she used a Hatamoto-Chi of the -Kaze variant.[11] During the Dragoon Civil War, she piloted a Mongoose.[1]
