Skadi was a Clan Wolf warrior which fought in the Clan Invasion.
History
Skadi was a trueborn MechWarrior. She and her Star, under the command of Star Commander Keithen, had been attacking the planet Planting of the Federated Commonwealth as part of the Clan Invasion, in the Third Battle Cluster, part of Beta Galaxy (Clan Wolf). The 8 July 3050, a group of unknown defenders faced them at the entrance of a bridge. She and Keithen were crossing when the enemies blown it, and both had fallen under the sea. She loosed consciousness with the fall, but awakened shortly. Her Nova was damaged but operative. She examined Keithen's 'Mech, and constates than the cockpit had been crushed and than he was dead. Shortly, she managed to take her 'Mech out of the water, and rejoins the rest of her 'Star in the battle.[1]
On planet, they were facing the Forty-first Avalon Hussars, but their opponents, a simple lance of unidentified 'Mechs, weren't of those. She talked with her starmates, and as no one wanted to take command, Skadi takes it, assigning the targets. She took the heaviest' enemy target, the Dervish, down, despite the physical attacks of the Inner Sphere MechWarrior, which attempted to throw her over a cliff. Skadi immobilized the enemy 'Mech and dismounts. When the enemy pilot try to abandon his disabled machine, she helps him out before began cuting off his laser pistol with her vibrosword. The man was a older pilot named Suffield, which surrendered... but she began kicking him, asking him why they had blown the bridge.
Skadi was furious over Keithen's death, claiming it was for hers to defeat and kill him, and surprised herself discovering than she was crying. Surprisingly, Suffield laughs, relieved to see than the Clanners are also human, and explains her, compressively, than he also cried when his unit loosed someone. After Skadi pointed than she had killed enemies before, his prisoner says than is very different, to be at the receiving ends of the kicks.
Suffield's words forced Skadi to reevaluate her feelings about her commander, and she accepts than she feels bad for having lost the chance to win the Star Commander's respects.[2]
Skadi interrogated his prisoner, searching for info about the Hussars' loction and defenses. Suffield initially pretends to know nothing, but after Skadi punctured his cooling suit with her vibrosword, he finally says her from where the Hussars operate, in exchange of her word to treat his mercenary unit well.
She accepts, and offers a hand to his captive, smiling for having a chance to honor her commander winning the day for Clan Wolf.
Personality
Like most young trueborns, Skadi was impatient and hyperaggresive, but lacked the ruthlessness and hate for mercenaries than others showed.[3]
