Isis Marik was a thirty-first-century House Marik noblewoman, the daughter of the "real" Thomas Marik and Amandine Ruiz, a minor functionary.[1]
History[edit]
She was raised in secret after the bomb blast that killed her grandfather Janos Marik and (supposedly) her father Thomas in 3035. However, rumor of her existence circulated and her mother was persuaded to present her as Thomas's child in early 3036. With her DNA proving she was indeed Thomas's child, problems lay ahead. Political technicalities of Thomas never formally taking the throne caused debate in Parliament on whether she qualified to be his heir. However, this changed when "Thomas Marik" appeared on Atreus in December that year, having survived the bombing after all. Since Isis had been born illegitimately, she was passed over in the line of succession when her supposed younger half-brother Joshua Marik was born in 3048.[1] (In reality, Joshua's father was a body double and not the real Thomas Marik.)
Near the end of the Clan Invasion in May 3052, Captain-General "Thomas Marik" arranged for her to be betrothed to the Chancellor of the Capellan Confederation, Sun-Tzu Liao, in a political arrangement.[2]

A drastic turn of events during the Word of Blake's Jihad in 3067 found them on the run from Blakist forces aboard Victor's flagship, the CSS Invisible Truth.
Death and Legacy[edit]
Isis had three children with Victor: Jade Davion, Burton Davion, and Lee Davion.
Isis Marik passed away "in relatively short order" after Burton Davion (who died in 3113),[7] Mason Dunne, who was born in 3101, had first met Victor shortly after Isis' passing when he "was still pretty much a kid";[8] he had come to the attention of Victor Steiner-Davion at the age of sixteen (i.e. in 3117).[9] This narrows the time of Isis Marik's death down to around the year 3117.
