Planetary History
First Succession War
Following the bloody Lyran Commonwealth invasion of Bolan in March 2785 - and a thorough and devastating scorched earth defense of Bolan by the Sixth Bolan Defenders - Myrddin was struck by a retaliatory attack launched by the Bolan Defenders[21] in 2789, who used nuclear and chemical weapons to bombard environmental support and industrial sites across the planet.[22] The Bolan Defenders' attack on Myrrdin wasn't the only retaliatory attack by the Bolan Defenders; Altoona[21] was subject to a similar attack in 2786, and Duantia in 2788.[22] All of these campaigns - as well as the Bolan Defenders' defense of Rochers in the same timeframe - were all heavily damaging scorched earth campaigns that led to billions of casualties across the four worlds.[21] The damage inflicted on Myrrdin during the early years of the First Succession War was sufficient that by 2811 the planet was earmarked by Free Worlds League analysts as being so significant - either in terms of massive infrastructure damage, lingering effects from WMDs or other equally destructive factors - to merit the system either being abandoned or evacuated.[23] By the end of the Second Succession War the Myrrdin system had either been abandoned or depopulated and was removed from maps by ComStar.[9][12]
