Summer's Storm was a specialized aerospace-based mercenary unit.

History[edit]

Formed in 3059 when a group of test pilots and aerospace technicians employed by Mujika Aerospace Technologies's St. Ives plant were laid off due to relocations and company cutbacks. They banded together and formed the Summer's Storm Experimental Group and hired on with other aerospace development firms to test experimental air and aerospace craft. Five years later many of the command were bored, and Miguel Jose Valdez realized that the unit missed the high pressure of combat. So after their five year contract with Federated Boeing Interstellar expired in 3064 they reorganized as Summer's Storm and hired on with the Taurian Concordat.[1]

From 3064 to 3067 Summer's Storm were employed by the Taurian Concordat alongside Vandelay's Valkyries to safeguard the anti-spinward border and watch the Calderon Protectorate and pirate groups from Pirates Haven, in conjunction with the V Corps (Taurian Concordat),[2] or possibly as part of it as the V Corps was a purely mercenary corps until ca. 3064.[3]

As of 3079 the unit was mentioned as one of two units (the other being McFadden's Sky Riders) under long-term contract to corporate interests in the Draconis Combine such as DropShip and JumpShip yards and repair facilities, with clauses in their contract to put them under DCMS command if the need should arise.[4]

As of 3085 the unit is stationed on Dover.[5]
