The Dell system was the location of at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was located in the Clan Hell's Horses Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Dell system is located close to the Svarstaad and Vulcan systems[4] and consists of at least four planets orbiting a class K3V primary; at least one of the planets, Dell IV, has been inhabited, and during the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the zenith jump point.[1]

System History

The Bensinger system was colonised during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[5][4]

Dell IV

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Dell IV - more commonly referred to simply as Dell - is the fourth planet in the Dell system and has two moons named Ai Kanaka and Lona.[1]

Planetary History

Clan Invasion

In early September 3050 Dell was conquered by Clan Wolf as part of the fourth wave of Operation REVIVAL. Khan Ulric Kerensky had a personal hand in the planet's conquest, leading his Golden Keshik alongside most of the Fourth Wolf Guards minus Trinary Rogue against the Twenty-fourth Arcturan Guards RCT. The Twenty-fourth's commanding officer, Marshal Grace Shremp, assumed that Clan Wolf would conduct a surgical strike at the heart of the planet's megacomplex of Cosmopolis and so constructed a strong line of fortifications. These assumptions were proved incorrect when Khan Ulric Kerensky kept his forces just outside the defensive perimeter and instead skirmished with the Guards at Issel, Bainbridge and Cossin. These attacks caused little material damage but were psychologically devastating. The end came when Marshal Shremp made the decision to abandon the fortifications and meet the Wolves in Mercer Valley. In one of the few instances during the invasion in which Clan forces used such weapons, the valley had been mined with Vibrabombs. These mines, in combination with interlocking fields of fire, produced a killing field from which very few Lyran Guards survived.[6]

Jihad

In 3072, Dell was raided by Quinn Kerensky and his Trinary "Quinn's Ravagers" from the 1st Falcon Hussars. She challenged for supplies, parts, and replacement 'Mechs, but when the Solahma Cluster denied her challenge she engaged the cluster and annihilated the garrison. After that, Clan Jade Falcon picked the supply depot clean.[7]
