Description[edit]

Technical Readout: 3026 Revised, written in-character as a 3067 update to the original work, brings many of the entries up to current gaming standards, drops some previous ones and introduces nineteen new combat assets that had been referenced in preceding BattleTech titles.

From the back cover[edit]

The year is 3026 and war has ravaged the thousands of worlds of the Inner Sphere for centuries. Successor Lords send clashing armies to conquer neighbors and re-establish the long-lost Star League. Though the BattleMech is the king of the battlefield, it is supported by a much vaster array of conventional vehicles that fight every where [sic] from premier border worlds to the back waters of beyond. When in the hands of an experienced field commander, even a BattleMech must be leery when facing a company of tanks.

This revised edition of the original Technical Readout: 3026 features the most common military vehicles of the Succession Wars. Additionally, this volume contains nineteen vehicles, aerospace fighters, DropShips and JumpShips mentioned in the fictional context of the BattleTech universe but never before presented in a technical readout.

Table of Contents[edit]

Remarks on content[edit]

  • The title comprises descriptions of 62 units in total, from which 42 had been previously published. The units derive from different eras, Star League until late Succession Wars, all Inner Sphere. In further detail the TRO:3026 Revised contains:
    • 43 combat vehicle designs,
      • 35 combat and support vehicles: 33 previously published in TRO:3026 and 2 new designs,
      • 5 VTOLs: 3 previously published in TRO:3026 and 2 new designs,
      • 3 seaborne vessels, all previously published in TRO:3026.
    • 3 conventional fighters, all previously published in TRO:3026.
    • 3 aerospace fighter designs, all new.
    • 13 spacecraft, all new
  • The in-character description of the title's contents is given by Major-General Margaret Tulliver, Deputy Director, Wolfnet (8 August, 3067).

Notes[edit]

  • The items not included in the revised edition were the more-RPG intended personal weapons and equipment, including support weapons. These entries were replaced by "new" combat vehicles, ASFs, small craft, DropShips, and JumpShips.
  • Reprinted in 2005 as "Version 1.0, February 2005, based on first printing, with additional corrections."
  • Trademark was Classic BattleTech Technical Readout: 3026, Revised.

References[edit]

  1. Despite referring to the (existing) Light SRM Carrier in its Table of Contents, the TRO:3026 Revised actually contains data for the LRM Carrier
